GATE scores are used by PSUs and research institutions such as ONGC, NTPC, GAIL, HPCL, PGCIL, BHEL, BSNL, NHPC, BARC, DRDO, etc. to make employment offers.
GATE Exam Structure 2025
In eight zones across the country, the GATE test is administered and conducted by faculty members from IISc, Bangalore, and the other seven IITs. The body in charge of the GATE exam is the National Coordinating Board, which is part of the Department of Education and the Ministry of Human Resources Development.
The computer-based GATE 2025 exam will be offered in two sessions on February 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025. Every test paper code has a different GATE question pattern. The GATE 2025 two-paper combination (primary and secondary) has also been developed by the GATE authorities, allowing applicants to choose to take at least two papers in the exam.

GATE 2025 Question Paper Format
The GATE exam is a very high-level exam and the candidates must have advanced knowledge about its test paper so that while giving the exam, the candidates should not give much time to understand the question paper and more to solve the question paper. More time left. The GATE 2024 Exam Pattern is as follows.
- The test will only be offered online in CBT style.
- The test paper will be set only in the English language.
- Candidates will receive 3 hours to give all the mentioned questions.
- The test will comprise thirty subjects in total.
- The test paper will be divided into two sections of which one is General Aptitude (GA) and the second section will contain those subjects which have been selected by the candidates.
- Objective Type questions will be questioned in the test paper.
- There will be a total of 65 questions including both sections.
- On giving correct answers to some questions, 1 mark will be given and on giving correct answers to some questions, 2 marks will be given.
- A 1/3 and a 2/3 negative marking will be applied.
- The test paper will evaluate the candidate’s Recall, Comprehension, Application, and Analysis & Synthesis.

- MCQs are for one point, and for each incorrect response, you will lose 1/3 of a mark.
- MCQs are for two marks, and for every wrong answer, you will lose two-thirds of a mark.
- No points will be given for questions that are not answered.
