Pay Scale of Jail Warder and Female Matron
The basic pay of the candidates who will be selected under Police Jail Warder Recruitment 2024 will start from Rs 19900/-. Punjab Government, Finance Department is going to monitor the salary of Punjab Jail Warder and Matron.

Police Jail Warder Recruitment 2024 Eligibility

- Education: Candidates must be 10+2 qualified through a recognized Punjabi school.
- Age Limit: Age criteria are different for each category. For the General Category its 18 to 27 years, for the SC and BC Category its 18 to 32 years, and Ex-Serviceman according to the Punjab Recruitment of Ex-Servicemen Rules, 1982.
Selection Procedure of www.sssb.punjab.gov.in Jail Warder and Matron
The selection process of eligible male and female individuals for the post of Jail Warder and Matron is as follows:
- CBT: In the first stage, an Objective type (multiple choice questions) written examination will be conducted for the candidates who successfully apply for the vacant posts. At least 50% marks are required to pass this paper. The merit list of the candidate will be prepared based on marks obtained in Part B of the written examination only. Based on the merit of the Objective Type (MCQ) written examination, the candidate will be invited for the Physical Measurement Test and Physical Aptitude Test as decided by the Board.
- Physical Measurement Test: In the second round, a physical measurement test of the candidates will be conducted in which qualified candidates will be called and their height, chest and vision will be measured.
- Physical Efficiency Test: In the third round, the physical ability of the candidates will be measured through running, shot out and rope climbing.
- Document Verification: Based on the merit list the candidate will be called for verification of all documents. The decision on the number of candidates to be called for casting will be taken by the Board or the competent authority. After this, according to the number of existing posts, the names of the candidates found completely successful/eligible will be recommended to the concerned department.
